AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP. AUCKLAND, September 12. Last night in the semi-final of the Auckland provincial amateur billiards championship E. V. Roberts (the titleholder) defeated H. F. Valentine by 500 to 363. Roberts made a 140 break. He meets the winner of the other semifinal, in which A. Bowie (Dominion champion) plays E. J. Morrison.
