WONDERFUL NEW DEVICE. PICTURES FOR THE DOMINIONS. LONDON, May 27. The talkies scored a further triumph in the production of a “three-dimen-sional sound film” on a screen six times the normal size, says the New York correspondent of tlio “Daily News.” The device made possible unique spectacular effects. The people of New York are very much impressed by this invention of two Chicago citizens. It gives the exact duplicate of a theatrical performance. The figures have depth and distance, a picture of Niagara having an apparent depth of five miles. Talkies have captured the largest Broadway cinemas, shouldering out the stage. Agencies are selling tickets for at least 28 plays for half their face value. . The British Dominions Film Corporation is arranging to make talking and sound films dealing with the birth and progress of the Dominions. It is establishing production ivnits in each Dominion, which will bo the foundation of talkie production there. The first picture will he “The I rail of the Southern Cross,” showing Australian development until the war, including the Gallipoli landing.
