THE WEATHER.
FORTY-NINE POINTS OF RAIN. Another heavy fall of rain was experienced yesterday afternoon, continuing into the night, and at nine o’clock this morning 49 points were recorded, making a total of 96 points for June to date. Light rain was also experienced this morning, but a break appeared jn the sky about mid-day, and conditions this afternoon were bright. The barometric pressure at nine o’clock this morning was 29.18 inches, compared with' 29.61 yesterday. The extreme temperatures yesterday were 47 and 38 degrees, as against .31 and 31 on* Sunday.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. The following official forecast was issued to-day:— Indications are for easterly winds, strong to gale and veering by east to south. Stormy weather may be expected, and at places heavy rain is to be expected, with rivers flooded. The weather will probably 'become very oold. CirOmeter iMs toady, goon rising.
