CO-OPERATIVE BODY.
NEW ZEALAND PRODUCERS. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. The?, ninth annual meeting of the New Zealand Producers' Co-operative Marketing Association was held last evening, Mr E. Harding (Hawke's Bay) presiding. The chairman stated that the turnover for the vear amounted to £1,500,000. He'believed the fight of the future would be between capital and co-operation, and, given loyaltv, the latter must win. A striking illustration was the Co-operative Wholesale Society of Britain, which, starting with a few members, now numbered 600,000. This society really fed half the population of England and Wales.
Speaking of the possibilities of pork in England, Mr Harding said that for his own shipment he received 8d per lb., when New Zealand factories were offering 4d. The speaker concluded by stating that he thought they were on the eve of an era of stable prices. i'Messrs W. B. Harkness (Taranaki), W' Fisher (Wellington), and J. H. Stubb (Auckland), were re-elected dicectors, and Mr John Fisher Southland) Mvas appointed to a vacancy. w
