LOWER RECEIPTS.

TOTALISATOR AT AUCKLAND. (Special to the "Guardian.") AUCKLAND, June 6. A very large decrease in the totalisator receipts at the racing and trotting meetings in the Auckland province for the season now drawing to a close is apparent. The total decrease to date compared with the 1927-28 season is £478^647. Although the Auckland Trotting Club's winter meeting is yet to be held, figures relative to this fixture cannot- affect seriously the final returns.

The total sum invested in the province so far is £2,252,818, compared with £2,731,466 in 1927-28. When compared with the season 1926-27, this year's receipts reveal a decrease of £329,204, while the falling off as against 1925-26 is £711,753.
