MORE LIQUOR SOLD.
BRITISH COLUMBIA FIGURES. VANCOUVER, December 29. Official returns show that British Columbia, under the Government saie of liquor, spends £6 annually for every man, woman and child of the population of 600,000. Liquor sales have advanced by about £200,000 annually to the present total of £3.600,000. the Government making a profit of 20 per cent, half of which is divided between hospitals and the mothers' nension system. The system works better than anything previously tried in Western Canada.—Australian Press Association.
