THE WEATHER.

ANOTHER WARM SPELL. One of the warmest days this summer was experienced here yesterday.. The sun shone from an almost cloudless sky, but a cool wind tempered the warmth. Similar conditions (prevailed! to-day the warmth, however, being intense owing to the absence of any, breeze. The reading of the barometer a*.. nine o'clock this morning was 29.711 inches, compared with 29.65 yesterday,, and 29.56 on Saturday. The maximum and minimum tenfrperatures were 74 and 55 degrees, aa against 74 and 59 on Saturday andi 64 and 58 on Friday.

RAINFALL FOR THE YBAR. The rainfall during the past veart was distributed, generally, evenly! throughout the different months. Al remarkable feature was that the lowest fall for any month in the year* 45 points, was recorded *in the middle of winter, while the heaviest was in: the summer. The fall of 45 points for July was the smallest total that has fallen in one month since Febru-j. ary, 1924, when 37 points were ed. The total for December of this year is the highest that has been recorded since August, 1925. Details of the falls since 1924 areas follow:
