AUCKLAND RACING CLUB. CONCLUDING EVENTS. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, December 28. Rain marred the second day of the Auckland Racing Club’s summer meeting to-day. The track was very heavy. The attendance was greatly reduced, and there was a. big drop in the totalisator investments, which were £44,311, compared with £72,331 on the corresponding day last pear. For two days the total is £140,094 10s, compared with £203,844. Concluding results:— Cup.—l Pegaway (Ellis) 1, 3 Bright Glow (Reed) 2, 4 Talisker (Goldfinch) 3. Scratched: Vertigern. Won by a, length; two lengths between second and third. Time, 2min 14_ 2-ssec. Criterion Handicap, of 500 sovs; six furlongs—2 Dalston (Dick) 1, 1 Eaglet 2, 5 Imperial Prince 3. SECOND DAY. WESTPORT, December 28. The Westport Trotting Club’s meeting was held in wet weather, with the track a sea of mud. The sum of £8498 10s passed through the totalisator, compared with £9994 on the second day last year, making £17,931 10s for the meeting, compared with £20,089 last year.
