FIRE AT NELSON.
TWO SHOPS AND A HOUSE. (Special to the "Guardian.") NELSON, Dec. 26. Fire in Waimea Road early on Christmas morning destroyed a fruit and fancy goods shop and barbers saloon owned by William Capes. The fire spread to and demolished a private dwelling owned by T. Crow. On the other side H. Hopkins's gramophone and grocery store was severely damaged. Anothcfr private dwelling, owned by C. N. Wilkinson, had a narrow escape, catching fire several times.
