After a consultation with his colleagues Lord Dawson, of Penn, indicated in a statement to journalists that the King has slightly improved. Lord Dawson said: "There is a slight improvement in both local and general condition, it being >; part of the slow forward movement." Sir Stanley Hewett and Sir Hugh Rigby took part in the consultation. 1 moderate crowd gathered before the Palace, despite heavy rain. There is a little doubt expressed, lowever, that the King's condition is still serious. The anxiety of the Palace staff could readily be seen bemeath the attempt to be happy over -the holidays. The King has been alternatina between states of consciousness and coma and his staff recently saw the Duke of York in tears outside the nek room after his father had been -unable to recognise him.—Australian JPress Association.
