CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Brilliant play by Walter Lindrum (Australia) last night characterised the match between him and Clark McConachy (New Zealand). Im the afternoon Lindrum made four breaks for the 100 and McConachy three. At the evening session, Lindrum began a sensational break with 100 unfinished and one straight-out point, adding 751, and a full break of 851 unfinished. In these hreaks he played all departments of the game—the top of the table, two very long breaks and a sequence of close cannons, and one long run at the top, spot end, to pot the red and cannons. He made about 200 in this phase of the game, and the whole break lasted 29 minutes. The totals are: Lindrum, 4501; McConachy, 2858.
