FANCY DRESS BALL

HIGH SCHOOL FUNCTION. MANY BRILLIANT COSTUMES. A fancy dress ball in aid of the school funds and toward the cost of a motor mower for the new playing areas was held in the Theatre Royal last night. The function proved to be a- popular one, the attendance being very, large. Most of those who attended were in fancy costume, and somo excellent creations were seen. Several cleverlyarranged costumes were among them. The Theatre had been lavishly decorated with streamers- of the school colours, and bunches of greenery were fastened round the walls. The music was supplied by Macdonald's orchestra and the school orchestra played extras. The ball was arranged by the headmaster (Mr W. F. Waiters) and members of the staff, who are to be congratulated on the success that attended their efforts.
