At Port Elizabeth, Landry (France) beat Richardson, 6-2, 8-6; firugnon and Boussus (France) beat Eaglcstone and Davies, 6-3, 4-6, 14-12; Landry and' Boussus met Richardson and Davies, and the score is" 4-f>, 3-3, the match to be completed to-morrow. —Australian Press Association and United Service. . LOWCLIFFE v. RUAPUNA. The Lowcliffe lawn tennis team played the Ruapuna Club in a return match this week. The scores were: Lowcliffe, 105 games, 13 sets; Ruapuna, 107 games, or 10 sets. ALLENTON SPORTS CLUB. OPEN DAY ON THE GREENS. Though the weather was dull the conditions were excellent for the' Allenton Sports Club open day this afternoon. The various competitions were well patronised, and a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon was spent by a large number of members of the club and their friends. The funds raised this afternoon will go toward the cost of a new motor mower. On the bowling green there was much activity with four competitions in full swing from an early hour. Messrs J. Templeton and A. Do-bsoff had charge of a drawing competition, Mr J. Boothroyd oonducted a driving competition. Mr J. Stevenson was in charge of the Drake bonds, and Mr W. J. Sparrow of the skittles. Croquet putting, golf croquet and progressive croquet were also included in the nrogramme. A members’ “bring and buy” stall was in charge of Mrs J. A. Walker, and the refreshments were supervised by Mrs ©’. A. Morgan, each haying several assistants.
