FRENCH ATTEMPT FAILS. AIRMENS ERIOUSLY INJURED. PARIS, April 4. Major Dagnaux and Lieutenant Preille took off from Villa Oaublaiyi at 8.20 a.m. to-day in an attempt to ciroumnavigate Africa, when an engine defect forced them to descend near Pierrelatte, at 3 p.m. The ’Plane touched a tree and somersaulted and burst into flames. Eyewitnesses railed up and extricated the airmen, who were taken to hospital. They are not expected to recover.
