QUESTION OF APPOINTMENT. PRELIMINARIES IN HAND. Preliminary overtures in connection with the appointment of a new vicar for St. Stephen’s Church, Ashburton, in succession to the late Rev. J. F. Wiseman, took place this afternoon at the Vicarage. The nominators were the Rt. Rev. Campbell West-WatSon (Bishop of Christchurch), Dean J. A. Julius, Canon S. Hamilton, Messrs G. Stening and G. W.
