MEMORIAL APPEAL.
PRESBYTERIAL ASSOCIATION. The Ashburton PresbyteriaT Association met in St. Andrew's Hall yesterday afternoon, when _ the president (Mrs Lloyd) presided over a fair attendance. An appeal had been made from the executive of the Presbyterial Association in regard to the memorial for Mrs Allan, who for many years had been secretary of the D'uuedin and Central Otago Association. The memorial, was to take the form of the educating of a Chinese girl by a Christian teacher. to be able to help the teacher in her district. The matter was referred to the branches of the Association. It was decided to send a letter ol sympathy to Mrs Bailey, whose husband has been indisposed. An address was given by the organising secretary (Miss McKee) on "Power and Prayer," and also on mission work at Nuhaka, Taupo, and "Waimana, and the Maori Girls' College at Marton. Miss McKee will be visiting all the branches in the Ashburton Presbytery during the next three weeks. Afternoon tea was then handed round, after which Miss McKee closed the meeting.
