FRENZIED SCENES
IN THE WHEAT PIT. RECORD IN FUTURE DELIVERIES. TRADERS CAUGHT "SHORT." (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This (Day, 10.15 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 11. A message from Chicago states that frenzied scenes were enacted in the Board of Trade as wheat shot to new high records in all future deliveries. The advance of over five cents was the greatest in a single day's turnover for several years. Traders who had been confidently awaiting a break in the market were forced into short covering, and paid dearly, while the general public plunged into the market. The wildest scenes followed as frantic traders sought to> fulfil orders. , Quotations are: May, 1471 cents a bushel July, 147 f ; September', 146 Australian Press Association.
