NEW PRAYER BOOK.

ADOPTION BY BISHOPS. ONLY FOUR DISSENTIENTS. ARCHBISHOP AND CONVOCATION. (Press Association— Copyright.) (Received This Day, 12 noon.) LONDON, March 28. The Bishops of the Upper House of the Province of Canterbury accepted the new Prayer Book by 10 votes to 6. The Bishops of the Province of York accepted it unanimously. The Primate (the Most Rev. Dr. R. T. Davidson), addressing the Lower Houses of both provinces at Church House, Westminster 1 , replied to the charge that the Convocation had been slighted and overlooked. He had always protected the rights of the Convocotion. The presidency of the Convocation among archbishops was the most prized of privileges. He hoped that the Prayer Book would soon pass, because important business awaited the attention of the Convocation. He respected the conscientious convictions of those who opposed the book from the outset. He had no right to expect them to vote differently now, but he found difficulty in understanding the attitude of those previously m favour who now opposed it. _____
