Gene Tunney (world’s' heavy-weight in an announcement from Miami, says he wishes Tom Heeney to be his opponent in a bout for the title in July. It is believed the bout hinges upon "the financial question, with Mr Tex Rickard as final arbiter. DEMPSEY’S DAY OVER. SAN FRANCISCO, March 24. Refuting rumours that he would fight Tunney in September. Dempsey announced on Saturday: “My fighting days are over. No one knows this better than myself. I am through with the ring for ever.”
