Although the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association suggested that Standen (the champion road cyclist) should leave Sydney to-day for _JNew Zealand, this cannot be arranged, as sanction has to. be fortneommg from the controlling body, which meets on Tuesday. If the necessary permission is given and Standen is willing, he may leave for the Dominion on Friday, January 27. BOXING. HEENEY-SHARKEY CONTEST. (Per Pros* Association— Copyright.) NEW YORK, January 18. ' The Heeney-Sharkey score cards show that the 'referee and the two judges differed in nine rounds, but agreed in three. . ,-,- The referee (Mr Denny) gave Heeney five rounds and Sharkey four, and called four rounds even'. He voted for Heeney. _ ,■ . ' . . One judge (Mr Patrick), gave five rounds, and two even, and voted a J The other judge (Mr Kelley) awarded Heeney five rounds, and Sharkey six, and one a draw. He vetted for Sharkey.
