NON-ATTENDANCE AT FUNERALS.! ACCORDANCE.. WITH PRECEDENT. (Per Press Association—Copyright.' LONDON, January 17. The “Evening .Standard” referring to Mr Arnold Bennett’s criticism in regard to the absence of members of the Royal Family from the funeral of Mr Thomas Hardy, says it understands that the King and Prince of Wales never attend any funeral except those of relatives.. This is in accordance with precedent of upwards of a century, but both attend memorial services to distinguished persons.
