A London cablegram announces the death of the Duke of Rutland, at the age of 41. Mr H. A. Flower, of Wanganui, and formerly of Ashburton, was a visitor here to-day. IDr. H. S., Mrs and Miss BUicliff, of .Ashburton, were recent callers at New Zealand House 1 London, says the “New .Zealand News” of November 29. Mr T. It. Bavin (Premier of New South Wales), and his daughter, Miss Shirley Bavin, will leave Auckland today by car for Rotorua, where they will spend several days. From Rotorua Mr Bavin will proceed to Taupe, where lie intends to do spme trout fishing. He will arrive in Wellington toward the end of the month and will later visit the South Island.
