METHVEN BEAT GERALDINE. The Methven Ladies' Croquet Club played a match with the Geraldine Club at Methven yesterday in connection with the Junior B Flag Competition. Unfortunately, showery weather prevailed, but some interesting games were witnessed. The home team won by five games to three. PIGEON SHOOTING. THE METHVEN CLUB. The Christmas shoot of the Methven Gun Club has become a popular fixture, judging by the large attendance of members' as well as supporters sit the Mount Harding racecourse yesterday. Despite a misty rain, good shooting was recorded. The results were as follow : Seven-Bird Sweepstake, with added trophies.—A. A. McLeod 7, S. H. Anderson 7. C. C. Winn 7, W. Jackson 7, 'V. M. Hart 6, L. C. Anderson 5. In the shoot-off, Winn took first trophy, 8. H. Anderson second and McLeod third, Jackson fourth and Hart fifth. Seven-Bird Trophy and Sweepstake Handicap.—W. J. Burrows 7, W. Jackeon 7, S. H. Anderson 7, T. S. Harrison 7, G. A. Franks 6. Jn the shootoff.
