METHVEN BEAT GERALDINE. The Methven Ladies' Croquet Club played a match with the Geraldine Club at Methven yesterday in connection with the Junior B Flag Competition. Unfortunately, showery weather prevailed, but some interesting games were witnessed. The home team won by five games to three. Singles.—Mrs Hayes 24 lost to Mrs Newman 26; Mrs McKenzie 16 lost to Mrs Allan 26; Mrs Lvon.s 16 lost to Mrs Duff 26; Mrs Broad 26 beat Mrs Waddington 14; Mrs Stock 15 lost to Mrs Fryer 26; Mrs Undrill and Mrs Owen, not played. Doubles—Mrs Hayes and Mrs McKenzie 26 beat Mrs Newman and Mrs Allan 24; Mrs Lyons and Mrs Broad 26 beat Mrs Duff and Mrs Waddington 13; Mrs Stock and Mrs Undirill 16 lost to Mrs Owen and Mrs Fryer 26.

PIGEON SHOOTING. THE METHVEN CLUB. The Christmas shoot of the Methven Gun Club has become a popular fixture, judging by the large attendance of members' as well as supporters sit the Mount Harding racecourse yesterday. Despite a misty rain, good shooting was recorded. The results were as follow : Seven-Bird Sweepstake, with added trophies.—A. A. McLeod 7, S. H. Anderson 7. C. C. Winn 7, W. Jackson 7, 'V. M. Hart 6, L. C. Anderson 5. In the shoot-off, Winn took first trophy, 8. H. Anderson second and McLeod third, Jackson fourth and Hart fifth. Seven-Bird Trophy and Sweepstake Handicap.—W. J. Burrows 7, W. Jackeon 7, S. H. Anderson 7, T. S. Harrison 7, G. A. Franks 6. Jn the shootoff. Burrows beat his opponent on the tenth round, taking first prize, Anderson second, Jackson third, Harrison dth and Franks fifth. Seven-Bird Sweepstake and Trophies. --W. Jackson 7, W. J. Burrows 7, C. C Winn 6. R. L. Haskett 6, S. Anderson 6, T. Si Harrison 6. Burrows was again successful in the shoot-off, beating Jackson on the third round.
