(Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, December 29. Senator Borah (chairman of the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee), in a formal statement to-day, said he was satisfied, so far as official reports showed that the activities of the United States’ naval forces in Nicaragua were confined strictly to the protection of American life and property. He stated: “I am in favour of withdrawing our forces from Nicaragua just as soon as it is ascertained that Americans are reasonably safe.”
