COMMUNICATIONS [DISORDERED. (Per Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 8.40 a.m.) ADELAIDE, This Day. A heavy storm swept the metropolitan area on Saturday night and Sunday, causing much damage. It unroofed houses, smashed windows, uprooted trees, and disorganised communications.
RAIN IN NEW SOUTH WALES.
GREAT BENEFIT TO COUNTRY. SYDNEY, This Day. A soaking rain for the greater part of the day spoiled the holiday. Most sports were postponed. ~ , The rain is widespread. Excellent falls are reported from many inland districts, where it was greatly required owing to the long spell of hot, dry weather and the ruin caused - the bush fires.
