Potatoes —£9 10s to £lO ss. Onions—£9 to £9 10s. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. THE ASHBUETON MARKET. This is the quietest period of the year in the grain and produce market. Not only are the holidays making business very slack, but the. new crops will not come on the market for some time. The following are the prices quoted by merchants, but they are purely nominal as thera is practically no business being transacted: — Fowl Wheat.—Prices are from 6s 6d to 6s 9d a bushel on tracks for firstgrade whole wheat ,with seconds at 6d less.

Oats.—Prices are as follow:—Gartens : A grade 3s lOd, B's 3s 7d, undergrade 3s to 3s 6d, according to quality. Good heavy dark Duns fetch 3s 9d, and light 3s 3d to 3s 6d. Algerians: Bright 3s 3dfi feed lines 2s 6d to 3s. CliafT.—Good bright quality is worth £4 10s a ton, with a better demand. Slightly discoloured is worth about £3 15s. A fair quantity of light and inferior chaff is offering, but merchants report that it is unsaleable. The nominal value is £2 10s.

Ryegrass.—Heavs T , clean perennial is worth 3s 6d to 4s, and inferior 6d less. Wfesteni "YVolths and Italian, good heavy, clean samples fetch up to 3s 3d, discoloured and light 2s 6d to 2s 9d. Partridge Peas.—These are fairly quiet. No. l'e bring 5s 9d, undergrade 4s 6d to ss. ■ ; ' .
