MOTORIST DROWNED IN &REEK. FOUND UNDERNEATH HIS CAR. (Per Press Association.; DUNEDIN, This Day. Mr John Mitchell, a sheep farmer, of Outram, was killed in a motor accident at Deep Stream yesterday. A passing motorist found the car overturned with Mitchell lying underneath. TWO MAORI LADS DROWNED. DUNEDIN, This Day. Two Maori lads, Moana Mantle, aged 20, and Huikai Tifene, aged 18, were drowned while bathing in the 'Vtfaikouaiti River on Saturday. The bodies have been recovered. MAN DROWNED IN RIVER. SINKS WHILE SWIMMING. DUNEDIN, This Day. Mr Leonard Lefroy Grimshaw, aged 34, of Kaitanagata, was drowned near the mouth of the Molyneaux River on Saturday. With three companions lie was netting flounders, when the net caught in a snag. Deceased swam out to free it, and sank suddenly, supposedly through cramp. His body was recovered yesterday.

MOTOR CYCLE FATALITY. NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. A motor-cycle fatality occurred yesterday near Oakura. William Northern, aged 21, son of an Awakino storekeeper, was killed, and Valentine Green, aged 20, a farm labourer, was seriously injured. Apparently they tried to pass each other abreast of a .motor-car, and collided. Northern had his skull fractured, and Green suffered compound fracture of the ankle. >) DROWNING AT INVERCARGILL. INVERCARGILL, This Day. While bathing at Ocean Beach on Sunday, Donald McDonald, a, draper’s assistant, was caught in the current and drowned. Desmond Harland swam to his rescue, and had a. hard fight regaining the shore.

DROWNING NEAR AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, This Day. Mr Albert Cecil Thomson, a resident of Swanson, aged 21, was drowned while swimming in a creek with two other men. MOTOR CYCLIST AND CAR. DUNEDIN, Dec. 27. Air Harry Napier, aged 21, was admitted to the Hospital on Thursday with injuries to the head and abdomen, caused through colliding with a motorcar while he w r as riding a motor-cycle. He is still dangerously ill.
