Ar Fairfield, under which name it is betterknown, is wholly a freezing works township, the committee formed some time ago waited on the directors of the company, with the resrult that they will subsidise employees' contributions £' for £ up to £IOO. Circulars hare been distributed setting out the whole position. In addition, the shareholdersand supporters of the freezing works are assisting in the project. A sheep drive is in progress among the farmers directly interested in Fairfield, with pleasing results. Mr J. C. N. Grigg, the local director of theFairfield works, has given 20 lambs. Next Saturday afternoon and evening a bazaar wiil be held in the Fairton School for the purpose of raising money.
