TIMARU, This Day. The Autumn meeting of the South Canterbury Jockey Club was opened today in excellent weather. The course is in first-class order, and there is a large attendance. Results:—

Gladstone Hack—All Gold 1, Ferino 2, Shandre 3. Scr—Enare, Rich Prize, Mountain Rose, Cornflower. Won by a nose. Time. 1.43 1-5. J Electric Handicap—Gold Brick 1, Some Abbey 2, Soltoe 3. Scr—Waikaia.
