In view of the forthcoming shearing season, the Australian Workers’ Union has filed an application in the Arbitration Court for a off the pastoral award in the direction of an increase •in shearing rates, and concessions in other directions. When the present award was made, the 'Court promised a variation'’ if the cost of living increased. Graziers contend there has been no such ’increase. POWER AT WALSH PSLAND. EMPLOYEES ACCEPT POSITION. SYDNEY, April 30. The management at Walsh Island reports that the majority-of the employees have accepted the ultimatum .•and have returned'to work. REGISTRATION CANCELLED.

The Federal Arbitration Court has ■granted the application by the Commonwealth Government Line for an ■order nisi to de-register the Seamen’s Union for having exercised alleged job .-control.
