SPANISH GUNBOAT INTERVENES

Moors bombarded the British cable ship Amber, which was repairing the CeutarTangier cables. Despite the hoisting of the blue ensign and the sounding of her hooter, firing continued until the Spanish gunboat Bonifaz, which was patrolling the coast, fired 40 shots at the Moors. The Amber was not harmed.
