South Canterbury defeated Ashburton County by 31 runs, in the representative match played at Geraldine yesterday. The match was decided on the first innings. South Canterbury batted first and compiled 142, to which Ashburton compiled 111. > Going in again, South Canterbury made 124 for nine wickets, at which stage time was called. For Ashburton H. N.
