It was alleged that defendant had had printed documents containing statements as to dividends paid on investments on the totalisator at the races at Palmerston North ' on; December 29 and 30.

Further charges set out that “on December 31, at Nelson, defendant • did aid, assist, counsel, and procure• Alffed Clements in the commission of an -offence punishable on summary conviction, in that Alfred George Clements, at Nelson, on December 31” .did 'make a l>et of 10s upon the result of this Wairarapa' Cup, run at Tauherenikau on January 1, 1925.
