LADIES’ HOCKEY
JUNIOR (SIX-A-SIDE) TOURNAMENT. FINAL OF SENIOR CONTESTS. There are many spectators at the Domain hockey grounds this afternoon to witness the annual junior six-a-side tournament, for which ten teams of girls have been entered. The weather is fine and bright. The tournament was commenced at about 2 p.m., and is still in progress. Hockey enthusiasts will remember with pleasure the great struggle between the A teams of Rakaia and High School for the premiership of the senior six-a-side tournament two weeks ago. Play was continued for 25 minutes (the visual time, when any scoie has been registered, is ten minutes) without any score, and, darkness coming on, the final was postponed until tins afternoon at 2.30 p.m. In expectation of another keen encounter many people gathered this afternoon. Results of junior matches at time or going to press, were: — . First Round.—Hinds 1, Rakaia. B 0; Technical School Methven 0; byes, High School A; Tinwald, Mt Somers B, High School B, Mt. Somers A, Rakaia
Second Round.—High School A H, Tinwald 1; High School B 2, Mount Souiers B 0.
