SOUTHERN FATALITIES. (Per Press Association.) DUJSEDIN, This Day. A youth named Peter Erlandson died during a football match between Balclutha and Clinton, played at Clinton on Saturday. He sat down at halftime, and when a companion asked him if he was not feeling well, he collapsed and died almost immediately. John Lillie, who had been in illhealth, became seriously ill on Friday, and died on Saturday. He admitted to Dr. Evans that he had taken poison on Thursday. A verdict of death from poison taken when temporarily insane was returned.

MINE WORKER KILLED. GREYMOUTH, This Day. The death occurred last night of Joseph Higson, a victim of an accident on Wednesday last at Binn’s mine, when he was struck by a rake of trucks when working. at the bottom of the jig.
