THE WEATHER.

A RECORD FROST. Fourteen degrees of frost were registered at the Domain weather station this morning. This is the keenest frost experienced this year. The next highest record was of 13 degrees on June 16 and July 9. A genial sun has scattered the whiteness of early morning and taken much of the keenness from the atmosphere. The sky is practically clear of clouds, and a slight northerly wind is blowing. Yesterday's temperatures, were 46 and 22 degrees, maximum and minimum respectively. The frost began late in the afternoon. The barometernow has an upward tendency, and stood at 30.4 at 9 a.m. to-day. KEEN FROSTS AT METHVEN. Severe frosts have been consistent of late, ten degrees being frequently registered. Sunshine has followed as a rule. This (Saturday) morning the frost was very severe, 14 degrees being registered. This is a record for this winter. The sun has come out well, and the day should prove fine and warm. TO-DAY'S FORECAST.

The following forecast was issued:— The indications are for northerly winds, moderate to strong prevailing and freshening. There is a prospect <of fair weather. The night will probably be very cold, with frosts inland shortly. The* barometer has a falling tendency.
