U.S.A. CONFERENCE
ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual conference of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association Was continued yesterday, when Mr D. S. Smith (vice-president) was in the chair.
On the moton of Mr A. C. Laing (Otago) and Mr E. F. Andrews (Auckland), it was decided to hold next year's conference at Dunedin. A vote of appreciation was recorded to the president and members of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association for their hospitality. A vote of thanks was recorded to the Press for the publicity given to the conference.
The election of officers resulted: — President, Colonel H. Stewart (Christchurch); vice-president, Mr D. S. Smith (Wellington); treasurer, Mr J. D. Harper (Wellington); Dominion executive, Messrs M. A. Aldred and F. M. Cox (Auckland), W. Perry, A. T. Duncan and G. W. Clinkard (Wellington), N. A. Vercoe (Nelson), A. C. Laing (Dunedin), J. D. Forbes (Oamaru), G. W. Leadley (Christchurch), asd A. H. McKane (Greymouth). \ A vote of thanks was passed to Mr R. B. Bell for past services, Mr Bell not seeking re-election on the executive. The conference concluded at 6 p.m., the North Island delegates leaving by last night's ferry steamer.
