SNAKES LET LOOSE
EXCITEMENT QH STATSON.
STAFF HAVE A BUSY TIME.
INCIDENT IN QUEENSLAND. (Per Press Association—Copyrigit.) (Received June 10, 11.45 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. On Saturday night a basket was left in the Maryborough parcels office, the contents being unknown. During the night rats gnawed a hole in the basket, and the next morning two snakes were killed on the railway station. When the parcel office was opened four other large specimens were discovered crawling on the floor, and were killed. Later in the day a man called and demanded the basket, and explained it , contained snakes belonging to a show which had been exhibiting in the town. Fie stated that six more snakes, all venomous, were unaccounted for. Subsequently three of the missing snakes were discovered in various parts of the station, and were killed.
