IDEAL CONDITIONS. Excellent weather conditions have prevailed during the last few days. Much sunshine was experienced yesterday, and' this had an effect on the thermometer in keeping it up to 52 degrees as its maximum. The night was chilly, more especially towards morning, when a thin whit© layer of frost on the ground sent the thermometer outside down to five degrees below freezing point. This morning broke fine and clear, and the conditions since have been ideal. The barometer* has fallen somewhat, and at 9 a.m. stood at 29.72-. TO-DAY'S FORECAST. The following forecast was issued:— The indications are for southerly winds, moderate to strong. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather. There will probably be a hard frost tonight. Barometer rising.
