MR LEADLEY'S STATEMENT.

Sir, —Permit me to correct an error in your paragraph (evidently copied from a city paper) in regard to my statement to the Taxation Commission sitting in Christchurch regarding the methods of the Income-tax Department. In that statement no reference whatever was made to the land tax The sum first demanded from me and the sum afterwards accepted were for income tax. and for that alone. It would not have been possible for the thing to have occurred in regard to the land t«*, as that does not vary from year *» year. By making this correction you will oblige. GEO. W. LEADLEY. Elgin, May 7, 1924.
