The police force of 38 Chinese concerned in the recent piracy in Hongkong waters on a. steam launch at Kwangtak were shot by the Chinese authorities in the Heuhgshan district.

Twenty-six insurance companies have commenced a payment of 10 per cent, on policies held by losers in earthquakes and fire. There were great crowds at each office. The distribution involves 80,000,000 yen borrowed from the Government. Most is immediately re-invest able in permanent construction, for which permits are issuable on June 1.
