The Montreux correspondent of the “Daily Chronicle” states that the Caliph is disconsolate, 'because in his hurried flight he forget his beloved violin. The leader of the hotel or-chestra-has supplied an old instrument, which affords the Caliph a delight not reflected in the melancholy tunes in which he indulges.
