RIFLE SHOOTING.

MOUNT SOMERS CLUB, The Mount Somers Club held its weekly shoot on Wednesday, July If, when the competition for Mr Millichamp’s trophy was advanced another stage. Those who scored the possible were: Les. Hood, score 33, handicap 34, total 35; W. Taylor, 28—-74 35; L. Grieve, 30 —5 —35; W. Hood, 32 —4 30., Other scores were: H. Gifkins, 31 24—334; E. Gifkins, 28—5—33. For practice the best scores oft the rifle were: H. Gifkins, 34 31; W. Taylor, 30; E. Gifkins, 30. it was a great disappointment to the club to learn at the last minute that Methven Club could not come over on Thursday as arranged to shoot for the Shield. However, a practice was held, and the scoring proved very consistent. The following were the best of the scores to count for the trophy abovementioned: —J. Hix, 29 74 35; G. Morgan. 28—64—344; B. Stewart, 20-94—344 94—344 ; W. McClimont, 30—4—34; S. Reveller, 30—44—344; E. Bnynon, 25 9 —34. Other good practice scores were: L. Grieve, 33 —30; W. Hood, 33; J. Gorrie. 33—31—29; W. Taylor 31— 30 —29; G. Morgan, 31; L. Hood, 31; G. Brunton, 30 —29; F. Gifkins, 30—29. The leading scores for the trophy are: W. J. Taylor, 70; L. Hood, 69; G. Morgan, 68; S. Revelley, 674 E. Gifkins, 674; E. Baynon, 67; W. McClimont. 67. Word has just been received from Methven stating that they _ will be over to shoot for the County Shield on Wednesday, July 25. . . The trophy shoot will be continued on Tuesday, "the 24th.
