SKY STILL CLOUDED. The weather in. Ashburton so far this week is still very unsettled, and the conditions seem to point to the fact that more rain will yet fall before the atmosphere is cleared. Banks or scattered clouds hold back a great deal of the sunshine, and the air is still very raw. A frost of 5 degrees was experienced this morning, the instruments at the Domain weather station recording 45 degrees and. oO degrees, as the maximum and minimum temperatures respectively m the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. to-day. .At that hour the barometer was showmga still further drop to 29.78 inches,, although this is high for Ashburton, district
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. The following forecast was issued:— The indications are for northerly modi ©rate to strong winds, and backing by west to south. The weather appears to be cloudy and unsettled, with rain following. Barometer unsteady, but rising after about 20 hours.
