The outstanding feature of the stock sale at Tinwald this morning te further sharp advance for ewe and wether mutton, the prices m many of the lines being up to 4s higher th those obtained last week. Th onened with a pen of 15 ewes, unicii S at 27s 7d, and the price soared, for very prime stuff, to 31s 6d 34s 3d, and at one stage to 3/s for phenomenally good ewes. There were, however, quite a number of lines v/hich brought only 17s to 19s and thereabouts, showing that buyers ume yery discriminating, and prepaied to p!7the prtce only where the general quality and weight warranted it T 1 fat ewes yarded numbered 235, ali being told at auction. Of the 154 wethers offered, only 35 were passed in. 'She sale for wethers opened spiritedly at 42s 3d for a select line of 10 the jjext highest price being 38s 6d lor a similarly-sized line. The sale for wethers was a splendid one almost ail through, though, perhaps, at one stage, they slackened off a little. Stores yarded totalled about 800, mostly ewes and lambs. There were a few wethers and hoggets. There was a 'small and _ somewhat ragged entry of cattle. Prices were: fat cows £4 to £5 ss, fat heifers £4 ss' to £4 12s 6d, fat steer £4 12s 6H, springing cows £2 5s to £4 7s 6d; cow in profit, 255; cow, due to calve, £7 2s 6d.
