Two basketball teams the St. Andrew’s Club journeyed to Temukaon Saturday, and a very enjoyable day was spent. In all, three games were played. The game St. Andrew s A v. Temuka High School A was a very fast and evenly-contested one, both teams entering into the game energetically, Temuka’s passing being exceptionally fast. St. Andrew’s also played brilliantly and cleared well. Altogether a splendid exhibition of the liner points of a clean, fast game was shown, Temuka finally winning by 12 points to 10. In the St. Andrew’s A v. Temuka Town Club game the play was not so fast. The St. Andrew’s passing was of an exceptionally high merit, and had it not been for Temuka’s strong defence the scores in favour of St. Andrew’s would have been much larger. The scores were: St. Andrew’s 13, Temuka Town 4. The game between §t. Andrew’s B v. Temuka High School 11 resulted in a win for the home team by 10 points to nil.
