Mails close at Asbburton as follows :—>

For northern ports at 2.45 p.m.; late fee letters 2.55 p.m.; guard's van 3.30 p.m. For northern ports at 5.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 5.25 p.m.; guard's van, 6 p.m. , (The 5.15 p.m. mail is expressly for the North Island.)

INCOMING OVERSEA MAILS (Approximate dates only).

R.M.S. Tahiti left San Francisco on January 12 for Wellington, She carries 704 hags mail (including 402 bags mail from United Kingdom) and 840 parcel receptacles for New Zealand. Mails due Ashburton February 4.

Mails for Tonga, Fiji, and Samoa, per Navua, from Auckland, February sth, will close in Ashburton at 5.15 p.m. to-morrow. Mails for United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, via Panama (specially addressed correspondence only), per Ruapehu, close in Ashburton on February 9 at 5.15 p.m. Mails for United Kingdom, Continent of Europe (specially addressed correspondence only), per Arawa, close in Ashburton, on February 13, at 5.15 p.m. Mails for U.S.A., Canada, America, also United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, per Tahiti, via San Francisco, will close in Ashburton at 5.15 p.m., on February 19.
