[ - The “Daily Alail’s” Rome eorres- ! pondent states that there has been a remarkable response to Mussolini’s appeal for financial help for the State. Thousands of subscriptions are pour- ' ing in, often accompanied by touching letters. Blinded ex-service men have offered their pension and army officers have consented to give a percentage of their pay. Children are sending in pennies and workmen are working overtime on Government undertakings without pay.
