COUNTY CENTRES
METHVEN. A very successful ball in aid of funds to defray cost of establishing amusements for children in the local Domain was held last Friday evening in the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s shed. An energetic committee had previously decorated and furnished the shed in a very creditable manner. The floor was very fair considering that the shed had not -been used for a similar purpose for a number of years. Dr. W. H. D. McKee thanked all those who had contributed towards making the project' such a success, and intimated that about £35 had been netted towards the object for which the ball had been held. Dancing was kept up till about 3 a.m.
