RAKAIA SWIMMING ACCOMMODATION.
Sic,7—la your issue of Thursday there appears a-paragraph in the report of the annual meeting of the, Rakaia Domain Board as follows: —“ A letter was received from the secretary # of the Rakaia Swimming' Club pointing out the inadequacy of the present shed accommodation. Large numbers of ladies and girls, not members of any Bwimming club, at present had to undress under trees. —Consideration of the matter was deferred.” Surely, sir, this is a sad reflection on the Rakaia city grandfathers. And the rub is, the matter was deferred. Surely the board need not make any inspection to verify the statement of the secretary. If the old chaps are snoozing, the young ones are not. As one v. ho has watched the * ebb and flow (mostly ebb) of Rakaia’a progress for many years, I think tha time is ripe to be up and doing. PEEPING TOM. Rakaia, March 3.
